Today is the day we’ve been waiting for! The start of the infamous March Madness! Have y’all filled out your bracket yet? (I’ll be honest, I have two). I’m so excited to see how well WVU does this year but no matter who you’re routing for, there’s one thing we all need: the perfect March Madness recipe.
I grew up eating this infamous skillet chili for nearly every WVU game I bore witness to. It is quick and easy and so, so yummy! The best part is that it’s a basic recipe ready for you to put your own spin on making it the perfect March Madness (and football season) recipe.
1 Lb. Ground Beef
1 Can of Black Beans
1 Can of Bush’s Baked Beans
- Cook ground beef in skillet until brown
- Drain black beans and add to skillet
- Add Baked Beans (do not drain)
- Simmer until bean mixture thickens and until mixture is hot
- Serve with cheese, sour cream, and tortilla chips
I told you it was easy! The best part about both of these recipes is that they’re perfect for two people (JP and I regularly eat this meal on the weekends, it’s his favorite) or for they can be the perfect March Madness recipe for a large party. Just double the recipe (or triple, etc.) until you have enough!
Keeping in the tradition of being quick and easy, this salsa JP and I have been making is so quick, easy, and to die for!
1 Red/Yellow Peper
1 Orange Peper
2-3 Habanaro Peppers
- Wash tomato and peppers
- Chop tomato, papers, and habanaros into cubes
- Blend until desired texture reached (we like chunky)
- Serve with chips
It’s that simple, y’all. I promise you will be dying once you try this recipe. It’s so so so simple and easy to make. Plus, just like the chili, you can make it completely your own. I know I’ll definitely be making both of these recipes when WVU kicks off their March Madness run on Friday. These quick and easy recipes are sure to become your go to March Madness Recipe.
